Shelf Bra: Specialist lingerie brassiere designed with shaped cups that
support and lift the breasts from below. With a sexy shelf bra the top
edge of the supporting cups finish just under the nipples. The larger
part of the breasts and nipples are showing.
A shelf brassiere is essentially an American term
dating from the 1940’s and it is sometimes called a platform brassiere
or a demi cup bra in the UK. The ‘shelf’ below the breasts provides

shelf / demi-cup bra sizes usually, but not always, include a choice of
both band and cup size for a better fit.
